Plum Media celebrates 20th Anniversary

Plum Media reached a major milestone this year. 20 years in business, 22 employees and a vision for growth. We started Plum in 1997 because of a need in corporate communications to craft messages in a more creative and engaging way. Since then we've expanded our business to support a variety of industries and communication professionals who need event support, video and audio production, streaming technology and commercial production.

Plum continues to grow and evolve. We expanded our staff and tripled our workspace by moving to the Menomonee Valley. We have an amazing state-of-the-art studio, spacious edit suites for our clients and cool, collaborative spaces for Plum creatives.

Rewind to 1997 when it all began. It was a much different story. Plum team members were at very different stages of life. Director Chad D'Acquisto was an audience member on the Oprah Winfrey show. Motion Graphic Artist Kevin Petajan was a DJ at clubs in Minneapolis. Some of us were raising children. Others were still considered children. Our backgrounds and experiences are different. But we share the same mission: To produce memorable video and live event experiences.

Plum was founded by Rich Schmig and Bruce Gibb and quickly grew to four employees. Plum produced corporate videos and podcasts on tape. The technology was cumbersome, but our Plum projects sizzled. We created memorable meeting openers. We produced glitzy fashion shows. And we shot breathtaking aerials while hanging out of helicopters (B.D. = before drones.). We were flying high, and loving it. We still do.

Plum Media is built on a simple principle: Provide clients with great value. That's why some of our business relationships go back to the beginning. Plum Media has a team of creative thinkers who deliver content that helps clients tell their story and move the needle.

It’s been a wonderful ride so far and we're thankful for how far we've come.

We can’t wait to see what the next twenty years brings.
