Plum Media, a Milwaukee-based video and live event production company, has been recognized for their project with ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis. Plum Media is the proud recipient of the Communitas Award. It honors businesses, organizations and individuals that donate their resources to benefit their communities.

Plum Media worked with ABCD to create the “More Than Your Diagnosis” video that showcased breast cancer survivors whose lives were changed by the organization and are now giving back to help others. Plum Media created and executed the entire project at no cost to help spread awareness of ABCD and the services it provides. “I loved working on this video. The people at ABCD are doing some wonderful things. Knowing Plum donated our time and resources for this important project is rewarding for all of us,” said project producer, Kelly Daley.

ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis nurtures hope and restores confidence in all those affected by breast cancer, from the newly diagnosed to those in treatment and beyond by matching professionally trained volunteer breast cancer survivors with patients, families and friends who need support. These highly personalized connections are created based on a person’s priorities and life stage as well as specific diagnosis and treatment plan.

Director of Photography Bob Gregory shot so many beautiful images. Post Production Editor Jay Cederholm shaped the content and made the piece sing,” said Daley.

The Communitas Awards started in 2010 as a pro bono recognition program of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Recipients are chosen on the overall effectiveness of their program or project. Previous winners range from the creation of teddy bears from an online retailer for Children’s Hospital - to charitable work from Fortune 500 businesses like MasterCard and Toyota.

“It was an honor to work with Plum Media. Their creative team was able to capture the heart and soul of ABCD in a powerful and compassionate way that truly showcases our mission,” said Leanne Mindin, ABCD’s Communications and External Relations Associate for this video. “We are looking forward to working side by side with them again on a new video that will premiere at Date with a Plate 2018 on May 30 in Milwaukee, WI.

Plum Media started as a business in 1997 and has expanded to support a variety of industries and communication professionals who need event support, video and audio production, streaming technology and commercial production. Plum has 22 employees.
